Some Irish Origins

Antrim Ireland
Many persons in the United States have Irish roots. If you have discovered few old Irish records, perhaps you should consider researching the records of County Antrim.  The trail was a political one, as Irishmen crossed the country to settle temporarily in Scotland. A good map will reveal a logical crossing from the West Sea.  A typical trail to America included Berks and Bucks Counties, Pennsylvania, and from there to South Carolina.  South Carolina was very diverse, absorbing the cultures of the Germans, Irish and English.  It is a good idea to read some of the old histories written about specific South Carolina Counties.
