Do not go to the Georgia State Archives today or tomorrow

The archives in Morrow, Georgia continues to be open only two days per week, Friday and Saturday. Except when it meets a holiday. This is the Memorial Day Weekend. If you visit there today, you might find it closed. Definitely tomorrow.

Georgia researchers are suffering from budget cuts from the State of Georgia. However, the good news is that Georgia is required to have a balanced budget. So layoffs happen sometimes, but has particularly suffered under the current administration and there appears to be little light at the end of the tunnel for genealogists. In the meanwhile, may I invite you to the largest Georgia genealogy website online, Georgia Pioneers
