Loyalist Records added to Georgia

After the Revolutionary War, estates of all loyalists were confiscated and sold.   As soon as Cornwallis surrendered, General Mad Anthony Wayne occupied Savannah and the work of the Executive Committee commenced its work. Most loyalists who did not return with the British troops to England from the port at Savannah fled into Florida,  Barbadoes and Canada. Their tracts of land and estates were sold in 1782. The list of loyalists and purchasers has been added under Military on Georgia Pioneers
