Georgia Wills are Digitized by Georgia

The Georgia Pioneers website has digitized millions of old wills and added them to the website for easy viewing. When you click on the link, a PDF file opens and you can view the pages, then print it out for your own personal records. There are instances of estates filed with the probate court which are also digitized (but not for every county). The oldest Habersham County records, for instance, were never indexed by anyone (and had no index in the record books). So, we scanned them page by page. Now, for the first time, we know who died there in those early days. To learn who the testators were, go to the homepage and click on any of the counties listed on the left. The names listed are those who made wills.
